Big day for the crew today.

We started bright and early at Homebush for Sydney Striders 10km, with some great results: Anna White 2nd (37:32) with a strong finish to continue her podium streak; Anna Fitzgerald ran a blinder for 3rd (37:35) after an epic battle with race winner Julia Degan, who proved too strong; Amy Stafford and Kate Coburn (38:35) in 4th and 5th, smiling the entire 10km; Gemma Jenkins 7th (39:24) 30sec course pb; John Binfield on the comeback trail with his family watching on; Dean O’Neill’s (40:46) hard work is paying dividends; Amanda Underwood against the odds ran well and managed to smile when she wasn’t coughing; Ingrid Goodman’s 49:32 a gutsy run after an ambitious start; Scott Jenkins cracking 30min for 5km, his sneaky sessions at North Sydney Oval are proving effective.

Then it was off to Centennial Park for a speedy session with the Middle Distance crew, all looking good for their upcoming races.

Final stop was a return to Homebush for the NSW Junior Champs 1500m. Samantha King ran a very smart and gutsy race for 3rd behind a dominant Rose Davies.

In the meantime Coach Ben is hosting the Six Foot Track Marathon Camp at Caves House. He has Run Crew members Tony Fattorini (2x winner) and Sophie Brown (Dietitian, Coach and Coastal Classic winner) with him, as well as a host of trail and running experts advising the camp attendees, Andrew Tuckey, Jess Baker, Jo Barton and Tom Do Canto. Looking forward to hearing all the news from camp. All coaches are volunteering their time in support of this great race and the endless work of the Six Foot Race Committee.

Reminder that Tuesday and Thursday morning sessions start this week. Sessions start 6:20am – 5:45am warm up from the main cafe in Centennial Park. Everybody is expected to have completed at least a 15min jog before meeting at session location (see programs for location) by 6:05am for session instructions and final strides.
